An exciting opportunity for a Protection & Control tester to join the Major Australian Infrastructure Job

• Perform HV testing and commissioning of primary equipment (AC and DC) ranging from 415V - 500kV including power transformers, auxiliary transformers, CBs, CTs, VTs, rectifiers, switchgear etc.

• Perform secondary injection relay testing in transmission, distribution, generation and traction environments

• Test SCADA systems and communication systems

• Integrate new protection and control schemes to new and existing ‘in service’ schemes

• Compose and compile commissioning methodology, management plans, relay test plans, ITPs, test reports, commissioning plans and ‘as built’ documentation

• Manage and lead the delivery of testing and commissioning activities including managing internal and sub-contracting resources

• Prepare project estimates and provide subject matter expertise to staff, senior management and clients

• Develop and control commissioning plans for allocated projects including risk and contingency management, outage coordination and staged implementation

• Provide site testing team with technical support and lead testing activities
  Communicate and share knowledge to a wide range of internal and external customers with either extensive or no technical background

• Advanced Diploma of ESI (Power Systems) preferred or equivalent

• Proven industry experience in testing and commissioning primary and secondary protection and control equipment

• Working knowledge of protection relays – specifically ABB, Schneider, SEL, Siemens

• Experience using Doble & Omicron test equipment

• Experience testing and commissioning HV & LV switchboards

• Ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings

• Produce detailed commissioning plans and test reports

• Advanced knowledge in power systems protection principles and applications

• Proven ability to develop and lead commissioning activities in an electrical utility industry

• Experience / exposure to ICE 61850 testing principles (advantageous)

• Experience with Omicron, Doble, F6150, CMC256, CMC356, CPC100 & CT analyser and SCADA

• White Card

• ESI authorized is highly regarded

• Drivers License

• EWP is highly regarded but not essential

• “A Class” VIC Electrical Workers License highly regarded

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proof of right to work in Australia
